José Luís Peixoto

José Luís Peixoto is a poet, playwright and novelist from Portugal. He has received numerous awards for his writing. In 2003, he worked with the Metal band ‘Moonspell’ and the book 'Antídoto' was the result of that joint work. In Portugal he is one of the most acclaimed and prize-winning novelist. His novel ‘The Implacable Order of Things’ was published and acclaimed in more than twelve languages and it won the José Saramago Prize in 2001.

We are granted our heart’s desire only for it to be definitively taken away, since our dream of it perishes. The sun shows us our own desperateness. José Luís Peixoto yra poetas, dramaturgas ir romanų rašytojas, kuris yra kilęs iš Portugalijos. Jis yra pelnęs ne vieną apdovanojimą už savo kūrybą. 2003 metais rašytojas bendradarbiavo su sunkiojo metalo grupe „Moonspell“ ir parašė knygą „Antidoto“, kuri buvo jų bendro kūrybinio darbo vaisius. Portugalijoje jis yra vienas iš labiausiai pripažintų ir daug apdovanojimų pelniusių autorių. Jo romanas „The implacable Order of Things“ buvo išleistas daugiau negu dvylika kalbų ir laimėjo José Saramago prizą 2001 metais.
